Two keen coffee enthusiasts, Laith and Paul, set up Bomo Roast over 15 years ago when the coffee world was a much simpler place. The aim was to be able to offer a range of beans which would produce a classic Italian espresso.
We sourced our beans directly from Italy and had them hand roasted primarily by a small family roaster in Sicily. The grandson of the founder, who is now the manager of the business has since become a friend for life – as Sicilians do!
Coffee, as with everything, moves on, and the third wave duly arrived from Melbourne and people started asking for lighter, more fruity and acidic roasts.
To satisfy this new market sector, we now also work with a UK roaster so we can offer a smooth, balanced coffee with some lighter, more subtle notes than the classic Italian espresso. We have, of course, still held onto our Italian blends as many of our customers still love the more robust flavours.
As a coffee supplier, we also feel it is important to be able to offer our customers an all round package, so we also specialise in commercial espresso machines and grinders, servicing and maintenance and have on-site our Bomo School of Coffee, where we offer barista training ranging from practical half-day courses to two-day in-depth technical courses. We also have a range of ancillary products such as hot chocolate, teas, syrups etc and coffee making equipment.
Our plan for this year is to perfect our skills on our roasting equipment, so we can offer small batch guest coffees – exciting times ahead...
